Joining the Indiana Pacers midway through the 2023-24 season after eight years in Toronto, Pascal Siakam is now set to continue playing for four more years with the yellow-and-blue franchise.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, he agreed on a four-year maximum contract extension with Indiana, signing an agreement of $189.5 million and returning to the team.
Helping the team reach the Eastern Conference Finals, where they got swept by Boston Celtics 4-0, the 30-year-old forward convinced the franchise to offer him such a profitable offer to stay within the team.
The 2019 NBA Most Improved Player and NBA Champion averaged 21.3 points on 55.0% from two-point range and 39.0% from beyond the arc in 41 regular-season games since moving to Indiana. Moreover, he became the third player – after Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain – to average 35 points and 10 rebounds in each of his first two playoff games.
Included in the Cameroonian national team’s 26-man preliminary roster ahead of the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in Riga from 2-7 July, Pascal Siakam hasn’t announced yet his commitment. Joel Embiid, instead, decided to represent Team USA, refusing Cameroon’s offer.
