TRENTO, Italy – Italy is preparing for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Puerto Rico. Tomorrow, they will play against Georgia at the Trentino Basket Cup, while on the 25th the Italian national team will face Spain in a friendly game in Madrid.
During the press conference in Trento to present the first of the two encounters, Gianmarco Pozzecco revealed that Riccardo Fois, assistant coach of the Italian national team, will be joining Mike Brown as assistant coach in Sacramento starting from the 2024-25 NBA season.
The 37-year-old tactical expert previously worked with Pepperdine, Gonzaga, and Arizona in the NCAA. He also worked with the Phoenix Suns from 2019 to 2021 as a player development coach in Monty Williams’ coaching staff. That season, they reached the NBA Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks.
