The Golden State Warriors don’t appear to be actively eager to re-sign Klay Thomspon and keep one of their most legendary players on board. Or, at least, that’s not on the list of their offseason priorities.
According to The Athletic, talks between Warriors and Thompson are “frozen” and there’s no offer on the table for the player. Golden State is reported to estimate that Thompson won’t be that hot of the name this summer and that his options will be limited, allowing them to sign him “at a bargain rate.”
The Warriors will be looking towards adding some much-needed quality to the roster and freshen it up with some star power after finishing the regular season in the 10th place of the Western Conference and getting routed 118 94 by the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the Play-In.
Thompson finished with zero points on 0 – 10 shots in that game.
A four-time NBA champion with the Warriors, Thompson averaged 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists last season.
