Another big move in the NBA free agency involving a European player, as Isaiah Hartenstein agreed on a three-year, $87 million deal to join the Oklahoma City Thunder, as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski.

Hartenstein leaves the New York Knicks after two years to join the top-seeded Western Conference team from the previous season.

The 26-year-old center was selected as the 43rd overall NBA Draft pick in 2017 and, after a season in the G League, started playing for the Houston Rockets in 2018.

He then played briefly for the Denver Nuggets and Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2020/21 season, spent a season with the LA Clippers, and then moved to Madison Square Garden.

Last season he established himself as a valuable role player, appearing in 75 regular-season games for the Knicks, and averaging 7.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. In his 13 playoff appearances, Hartenstein averaged 8.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.
