Kemba Walker decided to retire at the age of 34.

The four-time NBA All-Star and NCAA champion at UConn announced his retirement decision on social media.

The 34-year-old former Charlotte Hornets, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Dallas Mavericks player spent the last season of his career in Europe, playing for the French champions Monaco.

I know I couldn’t have made it to this point without my incredible support system around me. There are so many people to thank — my mom, dad, and entire family, my teammates who have become family, and the coaches who believed in me and brought out the best in me. Basketball will forever be a part of my life, so this isn’t goodbye. I’m excited for what’s next,” Walker wrote.

After leading UConn to a national championship in 2011, he was drafted by Charlotte as the 9th overall pick and spent eight years there before moving to Boston in a blockbuster trade.

Injuries affected the rest of his career, as he played only 46 games across his last two years in the NBA.

Walker played in 26 EuroLeague games last season, averaging 4.4 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists for 4.6 PIR in 11 minutes of playing time per appearance.
