Although Lebron James declined his player option for the next season, it was expected that he would negotiate new terms with the Lakers, which is exactly what happened, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

As ESPN’s NBA insider reported, James agreed to a two-year, $104 million deal to return to the LA team. The new contract includes a player option and a no-trade clause.

This deal brings James back for his 22nd NBA season and essentially functions as a one-plus-one deal, allowing him to reassess his future with the Lakers and in the NBA next summer. He also joins Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal as one of only two players in the NBA with a no-trade clause.

LeBron is expected to play alongside his son, Bronny James, and the Lakers are working to sign their 55th NBA Draft selection to a rookie contract.

LeBron James is the only player to eclipse 40,000 career points. He ranks fourth all-time in assists, eighth in steals, eighth in 3-pointers made, and third in free throws made. Last season, he averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists, and 7.3 rebounds per game.
