The future of Evan Fournier is shaping week by week, but there are still uncertainties about whether he will return to Europe or he will still seek an NBA opportunity.
According to Marc Stein, the French shooting guard has become a target for the Washington Wizards, where he will find his countrymen Alex Sarr and Bilal Coulibaly.
Playing between the New York Knicks and the Detroit Pistons in the 2023-24 NBA Regular Season, he averaged 6.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.
Evan Fournier moved overseas a decade ago, being selected with the 20th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. He then moved to Orlando in 2014, where he stayed for seven years before moving to the Knicks. From then on, he has been struggling to find consistent playing time.
The 31-year-old French shooting guard is set to represent his country at the Olympic Games in Paris, as he was officially included by head coach Vincent Collet in the 12-man roster for France.
Qualified for the most-anticipated sporting event of the year as host, the French national team will play in Group A of the Olympics, facing Germany, Japan, and Brazil, which won the FIBA OQT in Riga.
