Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid has many fans not around the globe. And a lot of haters.
“I’m probably the most hated guy in the league. I don’t know why because… I’m just cool. I don’t know what’s there to hate about me,” Embiid said when asked if he pays attention to what is mentioned about him on social media while visiting The Check Ball Show. “I feel like a lot of people can relate to my story and what I’ve been through. I keep pushing.”
Embiid, the 2023 NBA MVP, also mentioned that he would average around 50 point in the league, if double-teaming wasn’t allowed.
He explained why.
“50. I’m not even kidding. I would,” Embiid said. “Because all you would have to do is throw the ball down there every single possessiona and I either get to the free throw line or I score. Most teams have what… two big men? Three big men? Next thing you know they’ll all going to be on foul trouble.”
Embiid is currently preparing for the 2024 Olympic Games that begin Saturday (27/7). It will be the first international tournament for the big man after choosing to join Team USA in FIBA competitions.
