It was expected to happen, but now all the pieces are finally set – Russell Westbrook is joining the Denver Nuggets.

As Shams Charania reported, the former NBA MVP is signing a two-year, $6.8 million contract with the Colorado team to join three-time MVP Nikola Jokic.

It’s also worth noting that the deal has a player option for the 2025/26 season.

Westbrook was first traded from the LA Clippers to the Utah Jazz, only to part ways with the Salt Lake City team. That opened the way for him to sign with the Nuggets.

The player with the most triple-doubles in the history of the NBA played 68 regular season games for the Clippers last season and averaged 11.1 points, five rebounds, and 4.5 assists.
