Trae Young discussed several topics in an appearance on the YouTube show Million Dollaz Worth of Game, including Atlanta Hawks teammate Bogdan Bogdanovic.
“Steph, Dame, myself,” he ranked three of his top five shooters currently playing in the NBA and then added Klay Thompson and Bogdanovic to the list, “Klay is still a top shooter. My teammate, Bogi Bogdanovic.”
The 32-year-old Serbian guard joined forces with Young in 2020, two years after the latter was drafted out of Oklahoma. Together, they led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals of the 2021 NBA Playoffs. However, first-round exits in 2022 and 2023, and falling short in the 2024 SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament were poor exhibitions over the next three years.
Young, 25, also opened up about his height. The Texas native stands at 6’1’’ (1.85m) but would love to be a few inches taller.
“If I was 6’8’’, I feel like I would be the best player ever to play this game. Just because of my mentality, the way I play, and the smartness I have about this game, I feel like I can bring a lot to the game,” he said.
In the 2018 NBA draft, Young was selected with the fifth overall pick by the Hawks, trailing bigs Deandre Ayton, Marvin Bagley III, and Jaren Jackson Jr. Another earlier selection, upon the well-documented trade between the Dallas Mavericks and Hawks, was 6’7’’ (2.01m) guard Luka Doncic.
“There are a lot of deficiencies, because I am 6’2’’, 6’1’’. It is tough. I am playing in a big man’s game,” he added on competing in the NBA.
