Giannis Antetokounmpo is gearing up for the upcoming season with the Milwaukee Bucks after the Paris Olympics, but rumors about his future are ongoing.

According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, the Golden State Warriors still hold an interest and hope that they will have the chance to get him.

On the latest episode of “The TK Show” podcast, Amick was the guest of long-time Bay Area reporter Tim Kawakami and explained how this may happen and the only way is for Giannis to directly request a trade if things with the Bucks don’t work out.

“One that I think is just always gonna be monitored around the NBA is if the wheels fall off the Bucks,” Amick said. “We know that Joe Lacob has had dreams of Giannis coming the Warriors’ way for a very long time. Again, unlikely, but Khris Middleton is gonna be a free agent next summer… I think Giannis is worth monitoring.”

This scenario appeared also last Spring, as Steph Curry needs support and the Warriors something to build upon.

It’s not a secret that the two mega-stars share a mutual admiration and respect, it was evident during the recent All-Star Games and that was the fuel that started all those scenarios.
