A new sports series by Netflix, Starting 5, streams on October 9.
It follows Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, LeBron James, Domantas Sabonis, and Jayson Tatum throughout the 2023-24 NBA season.
Sabonis, 28, talked about his participation in an interview with HoopsHype.
“Once I said yes and signed the next day, there were cameras around 24/7 following me,” he explained, “I would wake up, and there was a camera in my face. I am trying to go to the bathroom, and they are following me.”
The Lithuanian big, a 3-time NBA All-Star, is excited to share secret routines of day-to-day life, beyond displaying his talents across NBA cities over the last eight years.
“I am definitely more of a private guy with a family and everything, but Netflix has been huge having an opportunity like that and seeing the list of players that was starting to gain on Starting 5,” he mentioned.
“People who do not know me on the court, I am a typical bruiser. It is very intense out there getting into it with players and refs. I am a nice, normal guy who wants to hang out with his family and wife. You get a behind-the-scenes look at that with me and every single player and not just what you see on social media,” Sabonis continued, “I think it is going to be really interesting.”
On the release of Starting 5 on October 9, the Sacramento Kings also open the 2024 NBA Preseason schedule against the Golden State Warriors in Golden 1 Center.
