Making history as the first father-son duo in NBA history, LeBron and Bronny James teamed up for the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
Their side lost, 118-114, to the Phoenix Suns in Acrisure Arena.
“It was definitely a moment that I will never forget. It was pretty cool,” mentioned the four-time NBA champion after the 2024 NBA Preseason affair in Palm Desert, California, “The moment when we came out of the timeout, and we were still next to each other, I kind of looked at him and it was like… the Matrix or something. It just did not feel real.”
Heading to his 22nd NBA campaign, LeBron lasted 16 minutes in his Preseason debut, logging 19 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. His son grabbed two rebounds over 13 minutes.
“I am always thinking, ‘that is my dad’, because, literally, that is my day,” reacted Bronny following his second Preseason showing and first alongside his father.
On the other end, the Suns ruled out Jusuf Nurkic for their first Preseason outing. The Bosnian center is dealing with a left middle finger injury and will be re-evaluated in one week.
Elsewhere in the Preseason, Giannis Antetokounmpo sat out as the Milwaukee Bucks fell to the Detroit Pistons, 120-87, in Little Caesars Arena, the New York Knicks edged out the Charlotte Hornets, 111-109, in Spectrum Center, the Toronto Raptors overpowered the Washington Wizards, 125-98, in Montreal, and the Boston Celtics dominated the Denver Nuggets in Abu Dhabi.
