Preparing for their opening showing in the 2024 NBA Preseason, the Brooklyn Nets, including German floor general Dennis Schroder, have been following the instructions of Spanish head coach Jordi Fernandez.

“Probably one of the most unique and hardest training camps I have been through,” compared Schroder heading to his 12th season in the NBA, relayed Brian Lewis of the New York Post, “Like it, though, so far. Everybody is buying into it. Coach and coaches are doing a great job of keeping us organized and together. It has been great.”

Switching from team practices in San Diego to preseason action, the Nets will face the Los Angeles Clippers in Oceanside’s Frontwave Arena on Tuesday. Next week, welcoming the Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors in Barclays Center and visiting the Philadelphia 76ers in Wells Fargo Center lead into the Regular Season.

Fernandez, 41, was hired by the Nets in April. A former head coach of the Canton Charge in the G League, he previously worked as an assistant in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings and Denver Nuggets, besides taking over the senior national team of Canada in 2023 and winning a bronze medal in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Schroder, 31, carries the most experience in the NBA among the players on the 2024-25 Nets roster. A veteran of 837 games across 11 campaigns in the league based in North America since being selected with the 17th pick of the 2013 NBA draft.
