Another spell on the injury list for Kawhi Leonard.

Leonard, 33, has been ruled out indefinitely by the Los Angeles Clippers, head coach Tyronn Lue confirmed on Thursday.

“He felt good. He looked good. The swelling was down. Everything was going in the right direction. He worked hard to get to that point,” described 47-year-old Lue, “Once you start playing, you never know what is going to happen. He was in the right position to go forward. It was a setback.”

Because of an injury in his right knee, Leonard was limited to two games in the 2024 NBA Playoffs and also missed the opportunity to represent the United States in the 2024 Olympic Games. Dealing with inflammation, he remains on the injury list to start the 2024-25 Regular Season.

“Soon, he will be on the court, but not yet,” projected the head coach of the Clips.

Over five years with the franchise located in Los Angeles, Leonard has been limited to 257 games played due to various setbacks, including a torn ACL in his right knee forcing him to sit out the entire 2021-22 season.

“I do not see those chances,” Lue replied to a question about possibly missing Leonard for the entire 2024-25 campaign, “I am not a doctor, but I do not see those chances.”

“It is going to take some time. He is going to progress,” he explained, “There is no timetable or anything like that. Nothing has changed since day one.”
