The Dallas Mavericks are preparing for the start of the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season with Luka Doncic cleared for action.

Doncic, 25, was ruled out for all games of the 2024 NBA Preseason due to a left calf contusion. However, he has been a full participant in practices over recent days. Barring a setback, he will be available for head coach Jason Kidd in the season opener against the San Antonio Spurs at American Airlines Center on Thursday.

A post on his Instagram account confirmed excitement heading to his seventh NBA campaign, besides going viral.

Back in 2018, after being named Rising Star, season and Final Four MVP, and winning the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Doncic left Real Madrid and joined the organization based in Texas. Naturally, the Slovenian sensation went on to become the leader of the Mavericks.

Besides Doncic, German forward Maxi Kleber has been medically cleared after a left ankle sprain forced him to the sidelines throughout the Preseason schedule. “Our health is trending up,” mentioned Kidd, “It is great to have Maxi back.”

Kessler Edwards (left ankle sprain) is also expected to be cleared for the season opener. However, Dante Exum will miss several months after undergoing surgery on his right wrist.

Last season, the Mavs reached the NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV. The third berth in the Finals and first since lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy in 2011 was countered by the Boston Celtics being crowned NBA champions in five games.
