The Joker and the Alien continue the season with wins in the West

Serb Nikola Jokic scored 27 points and Michael Porter Jr. had 20 as the Denver Nuggets used a third-quarter offensive surge to beat the Utah Jazz 129-103 on Saturday night for their first home win of the season.

Keldon Johnson had 25 points, and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-103 without coach Gregg Popovich, who missed the game due to illness.

Polish forward Jeremy Sochan added 19 points and 10 rebounds for San Antonio and French phenomenon Victor Wembanyama had 17 points and six rebounds.

For the losing side, French big man Rudy Gobert had 10 points, three rebounds, and one assist.
