Polish forward Jeremy Sochan will have surgery to repair a fractured left thumb.

The San Antonio Spurs updated his status on Tuesday.

Due to the injury, 21-year-old Sochan was forced to exit early from the game versus the Los Angeles Clippers in Intuit Dome on Monday evening. He fractured the proximal phalanx running into a screen in the second quarter. He left the game with 3:31 remaining in the first half and did not return.

The Spurs did not provide a recovery timetable but will update his status following surgery.

With the former Baylor standout chipping in four points and three rebounds over 12 minutes, the Spurs built a 26-point lead but could not hold on in the second half and fell to 3-4 in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season.

The native of Oklahoma and member of the senior national team of Poland through roots in the country via his mother averaged 15.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.4 blocks per contest over seven appearances in his third campaign with the Spurs. Back in 2022, he was drafted with the ninth overall selection by the organization based in Texas.

Besides head coach Gregg Popovich sidelined indefinitely, 24-year-old guards Tre Jones (right ankle sprain) and Devin Vassell (right foot) remain unavailable heading to a clash with the Houston Rockets in Toyota Center on Wednesday. Back home in the Frost Bank Center, the Spurs host the Portland Trail Blazers to complete a back-to-back on Thursday.
