Vasilije Micic has been limited to three appearances and a total of 21 minutes on the court with the Charlotte Hornets during the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season.
Head coach Charles Lee opened up about the situation regarding the Serbian point guard, a two-time Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion with Anadolu Efes and a former MVP of the most prestigious competition in Europe.
“He is continuing to work on his body and work on his game. On top of being the great basketball player, he’s been a total professional right now,” Lee shared following a losing effort against the Philadelphia 76ers in Wells Fargo Center on Sunday.
Micic, 30, moved his talents to the NBA before the 2023-24 season and was traded to the Hornets last February.
“Unfortunately, he hasn’t been in our rotation, but that has not stopped him from being the ultimate professional and teammate. He continues to just bring the right attitude and mindset to our gym and our team every game, talking to our players during timeouts about what he sees. He and I had a couple of sitdown conversations, postgame stuff,” continued the head coach of the Hornets, “I greatly appreciate everything that he is doing right now in a situation when he unfortunately is not playing.”
In the latest installment of NBA Sundays, falling to the Sixers in overtime forced the team guided by Lee to 4-6. Resuming the schedule and starting Emirates NBA Cup play, the next game is against the Orlando Magic in Kia Center on Tuesday.
