Nikola Jokic got his first Player of the Week award for the 2024-25 after a 4-0 run to remember.
Per Denver’s press release: “The NBA has announced that Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, November 4th to Sunday, November 10th.
Jokić wins the award for the first time this season and has now earned Western Conference Player of the Week honors 15 times in his career, the most in franchise history.
Jokić, 29, averaged 29.5 points, 15.8 rebounds, 14.5 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks while shooting .566 from the field and .500 from three-point range en route to a 4-0 week. He ranked first in the NBA in rebounds and assists and third in the Western Conference in points per game. He also secured four triple-doubles in the four games played and leads the league with six total triple-doubles this season.
Jokić kicked off the week registering 28 points (10-22 FG, 7-8 FT), 14 rebounds, 13 assists, one steal, and two blocks against the Toronto Raptors on 11/4. Two days later against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Jokić posted 23 points, 20 rebounds, 16 assists, two blocks, and two steals, helping the Nuggets hand the Thunder their first loss of the season. It marked Jokić’s 100th career game with 20+ points and 15+ rebounds and 13 career 20/20 games. Jokić followed that up with a 30-point performance (11-13 FG, 1-1 3FG, 7-7 FT) to go with 11 rebounds, 14 assists, and two steals against the Miami Heat on 11/8. This marked his third career game with 30+ points on 80+ FG%, while other NBA player in the last 40 years has combined for three such games total as well. Finally, Jokić tallied his fourth consecutive triple-double, finishing with 37 points, 18 rebounds, 15 assists, and three steals against the Dallas Mavericks on 11/10, becoming the first player in NBA history to post those stats in a game. Jokić tied his longest triple-double streak for the fifth time in his career, bringing his total career triple-doubles to 136, two shy from tying Magic Johnson for third-most in NBA history”.
