Before helping the Brooklyn Nets take down the New Orleans Pelicans, 107-105, in Smoothie King Center, 31-year-old Dennis Schroder discussed the latest rumors projecting him to move elsewhere during the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season.
“I’ve been in the league 12 years, and people have talked about my name in trade talks for 12 years. I’ve been traded twice,” he told the New York Post before Monday’s game, “They use it as an event where they can promote who is on the block. I don’t really care.”
Moving to the floor, the German guard contributed 14 points, three rebounds, and two assists for the Nets to snap a two-game losing streak. Attracting the attention of other NBA teams, he averages 20.1 points and 6.6 assists per contest over 11 games this season.
“I’ve bought into this system right now because they pay my checks, and I’m doing my job every single day, and I’m always professional about it, always going to make the most out of it. Get one percent better every single day. And whatever happens, happens. I understand it’s a business, but no worries here,” he said.
Back on the win column, the team coached by Jordi Fernandez reached a 5-6 record in the Regular Season. “We limited them to 20 points in the fourth. That’s how you win games,” explained the Spanish tactician.
Besides Schroder, fellow German Daniel Theis recorded four points and four rebounds but was on the wrong end of the contest.
