The German talent went to business with his brother Moritz to take down the 76ers

Extending Orlando’s run in the 2024-25 NBA Cup to 2-0 by beating the Philadelphia 76ers 98-86, Franz Wagner proved once again that he has been living a different kind of season this year for the Magic.

In a team-high 41 minutes of playing time, the 23-year-old exciting forward put up a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds, while also sharing 6 assists, getting 2 steals, and shooting 10/23 from the field, including a solid 5/11 from the perimeter. The former ALBA Berlin player also went 6/6 at the line.

Franz Wagner is indeed having himself a hell of a season, averaging 21.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game while shooting 47.1% from the field for the Orlando Magic.

His brother Moritz, who came off the bench, had 14 points and 4 rebounds; the other German on the team, Oscar da Silva’s brother, Tristan, started the game and finished with 6 points and 3 rebounds.

Other European performances

Nikola Jovic had an impact for the Miami Heat coming off the bench to beat the Indiana Pacers 124-111 on the road. The Serbian forward put up 11 points and 6 rebounds, spending 30 minutes on the court.

Despite losing 99-95 at home against the Detroit Pistons, Jakob Poeltl had an outstanding personal performance for the Toronto Raptors, getting a double-double of 25 points and 18 rebounds. Nikola Vucevic went close to it against Cleveland, with 25 points and 8 rebounds in Chicago’s loss.

Contributing to New York’s win at the buzzer over Brooklyn, British forward O.G. Anunoby had 25 points and 8 rebounds; on the losing side, Dennis Schroder had 14 points and 8 assists.
