With Paolo Banchero on the injury list, Franz Wagner’s takeover continued and led to a 109-99 victory against the Phoenix Suns in Footprint Center on Monday.

Fueling a sixth straight win in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season, following a Player of the Week nod, the 23-year-old German forward put a game-high 32 points with 12/24 field goals, including four triples. He added eight assists and five rebounds.

“It’s super cool. Obviously, I was happy about it, but hopefully, as a collective, we can keep this going,” he downplayed being named Player of the Week in the Eastern Conference compared to his side extending the streak.

Fellow starter, Georgian Goga Bitadze posted a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double. German Moritz Wagner put in nine points and six rebounds. Staying in the starting lineup, German Tristan da Silva combined three points with six assists and five rebounds.

On the losing end, Bosnian Jusuf Nurkic (left ankle sprain) was among the multiple starters ruled out.

Sabonis remains sidelined

In his first appearance since the season opener, Serbian Bogdan Bogdanovic tucked in two triples, helping the Atlanta Hawks edge out the Sacramento Kings, 109-108, in Golden 1 Center. Coming off a long stint on the injury list with right hamstring tendinopathy, he had six points, three assists, and three rebounds over 18 minutes.

French upstart Zaccharie Risacher chipped in 18 points. Fellow European starter, Swiss Clint Capela posted a 14-point, 14-rebound double-double. Czech Vit Krejci (right adductor strain injury management) did not suit up.

With Lithuanian Domantas Sabonis (lower back tightness) missing a second straight game, Ukrainian Alex Len started, logging two points, three rebounds, and three blocks.
