Looking to move the beef into a boxing ring, inspired by 58-year-old Mike Tyson recently taking on Jake Paul, Dwight Howard extended an invitation to Shaquille O’Neal. The four-time NBA champion turned down the offer citing NBA rings but presented future options.
Howard and Shaq reignited their beef with a hilarious exchange on X.
“Shaq, wassup?” wrote the 38-year-old center using a boxing emoji, “Let’s make bread.”
“Gotta have more than one ring to get in the ring with me, I’ll stick with a real champion like Rob Gronkowski, and you can have the Superman belt, all yours buddy,” was the reply referring to a recent discussion with NFL legend and four-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski about a potential boxing matchup.
“My bad I didn’t read the rulebook,” continued Howard symbolically placing a duck emoji on the message.
“If you would’ve read it, notice it says NBA vs. NFL. With that being said you can box an NFL guy. And then, if you win, then you can get the Jones of the big man, the goat, the one true Superman,” continued O’Neal.
“You wait till I’m fifty to challenge me, that’s funny. Just join the show and let’s whoop some NFL guys. And if you make it to the Hall of Fame, then we’ll do it,” he added.
“Fair,” agreed Howard.
A potential celebrity boxing match between O’Neal and Howard would be an immediate box-office hit from the United States to all around the globe.
