While it took the best version of Giannis Antetokounmpo to lift up the Milwaukee Bucks against the Indiana Pacers, the best version of Nikola Jokic wasn’t enough for the Denver Nuggets, as the 2023-24 NBA Champions lost 123-120 at home against the Dallas Mavericks.

Despite being without Luka Doncic, the Mavs won the NBA Cup encounter while the Joker finished with 33 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists, shooting 13/22 from the field and 5/7 at the line.

This was the Serbian center’s 5th straight triple-double. In this five-game span, however, the Denver Nuggets are on a losing record with two wins and three losses. So far this season, the two-time NBA MVP has averaged 29.7 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 11.7 assists per game.
