The San Antonio Spurs visit the Phoenix Suns in Footprint Center on Tuesday. Besides looking to improve in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season, they are also seeking a berth in the Quarterfinals of the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup.
In good news, 21-year-old Polish forward Jeremy Sochan is likely to suit up for the first time since surgery on a fracture in the proximal phalanx of his left thumb in November. He has been listed as probable for the game versus the Suns.
After suffering a left shoulder sprain during the meeting with the Sacramento Kings in Golden 1 Center on the latest edition of NBA Sundays, Tre Jones was placed on the injury list.
Jusuf Nurkic is out
Heading to a collision opposite French prodigy Victor Wembanyama, the Suns ruled out starting center Jusuf Nurkic for at least one week. After facing a left ankle sprain for most of the season, the 30-year-old Bosnian big was sidelined against the Golden State Warriors on the most recent installment of NBA Saturdays with a right thigh contusion.
“He’s been dealing with a lot of stuff to start the year. A lot of lower body stuff,” confirmed head coach Mike Budenholzer, “A week and re-evaluate and try to get him where he’s 100% healthy.”
In contrast, Bradley Beal is expected to return to action after missing one game due to a left calf injury.
In rehab since fracturing his right ankle early in the season, Collin Gillespie remains sidelined.
