Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner will be out indefinitely with a torn right oblique, the club announced. The German player will stay out of action at least for the next four weeks and his return to action will depend on how he responds to treatment, per the team.
Wagner was hurt Friday night during the 94 – 102 loss of the Magic to the Philadelphia 76ers Friday (6/12). He had 30 points, five rebounds and five assists over 38 minutes.
Overall in 2024-25, the 23-year-old Wagner is leading the Magic in points, assists and steals with 24.4, 5.7 and 1.7 respectively. He’s also posting 5.6 rebounds.
This news are quite the blow for the Magic that lost Wagner’s fellow young star Paolo Banchero in early November with the exact same injury.
