The NBA has decided to change the format of the All-Star game, which will feature three separate games instead of one.

Three-time NBA All-Star Game MVP LeBron James discussed the changes and touched on other key topics.

Something had to change. I was not part of the committee. It’s different in a sense. We’ll see when we get there. I have my ideas of what could possibly work,” James said, per Dave McMenamin.

It seems that the NBA as a whole also needs changes.

We gotta do something. The last couple of years have not been great for the All-Star Game. It’s a bigger conversation, not just the All-Star Game, but our game in general. There are a lot of f-ing threes being shot. So it’s a bigger conversation than just the All-Star Game,” LeBron James concluded.

Durant, Booker, and Davis dislike the new format

Speaking strictly about the new All-Star Game format, Kevin Durant didn’t hold back: “I hate it, I absolutely hate it. Terrible. The All-Star Game format changing, all the formats — terrible in my opinion. We should just go back to East-West. Just play a game. I think we’ve been trying to bring that flare back somehow with All-Star Weekend, I think we just keep the tradition. We’ll see how this one works. You never know, I might be wrong, I’m just another guy with an opinion, but we’ll see how it works.”

Devin Booker agreed: “I’m more into the nostalgia. I agree with Kev. I like East versus West with your own team jersey. I like the old jerseys. It’s whatever.”

And Anthony Davis added: “I don’t really like it. But we’ll see how it goes this year and see if they change it or not.”
