Overcoming an ejection of Joel Embiid, the Philadelphia 76ers rallied past the San Antonio Spurs, 111-106, in Wells Fargo Center on Monday.

Andre Drummond was also tossed before the referees rescinded the technical and ruled a flopping technical on Victor Wembanyama.

“Just stepped on my foot and I fell. That’s it. I just got tripped,” said the 20-year-old French center, adding to reactions from both sides on questionable calls, “I didn’t mean to fall.”

Nevertheless, Drummond later exited with a toe injury. Taking over at the five position, Guerschon Yabusele helped in necessary team adjustments opposite his international teammate, Wemby, and lasted nearly 32 minutes. He finished with 17 points behind 6/8 field goals, including three triples. His further contributions amounted to four steals, four rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

After being named Player of the Week in the Western Conference, Wembanyama registered 26 points, nine rebounds, eight blocks, and four assists. Polish Jeremy Sochan tallied 15 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.

In State Farm Arena, French Rudy Gobert was held to two points, six rebounds, and one block as the Minnesota Timberwolves fell, 117-104, to the Atlanta Hawks.

On the winning end, French Zaccharie Risacher chipped in five points, Swiss Clint Capela paired four points with eight rebounds, and Czech Vit Krejci finished with two points.

The hosts ruled out Serbian Bogdan Bogdanovic due to a left lower leg contusion but improved to 15-15 in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season.
