Antetokounmpo reveals Bucks used Željko Obradović’s play in final moments against Nets

Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered another performance for the history books but couldn’t lead his team to victory. The Bucks erased a 24-point deficit, and Giannis set up a solid opportunity for Damian Lillard to tie the game. However, the experienced point guard couldn’t sink the shot, allowing the Nets to hold on for a 113-110 win.

Speaking to the press after the game, Antetokounmpo revealed that the Bucks used a play designed by legendary coach Željko Obradović.

Great play by coach Doc. I love that play—it comes from Željko Obradović from Fenerbahçe. It always gives the guy an open look. We’ve run it multiple times, and out of three or four times we’ve used it, we’ve scored two or three times,” Giannis said.

He also addressed the Bucks’ struggles earlier in the game and their inability to maintain consistency:

When you go down 20, that’s when we start competing. We can’t do that—put ourselves in a hole and try to dig out. It takes too much out of everybody. We need to be more locked in, more focused, take care of the ball, make smarter decisions offensively, and defensively have each other’s backs. We’ve got to be better.”

After the loss to the Nets, the Bucks now hold a 17-15 record, placing them sixth in the Eastern Conference standings.
