With little to a complete lack of signs of slowing down, LeBron James seems destined to break yet another NBA record.
A few days after celebrating his 40th birthday, he passed Dirk Nowitzki to rank fourth on the list of players with the most appearances in the Regular Season of the league based in North America. Already leading the list with the most games combining the Playoffs and the Regular Season behind 1,810 appearances, he logged his 1,523rd appearance in the Regular Season during the latest edition of NBA Sundays. The German legend wrapped up his career being featured in 1,522 contests with the Dallas Mavericks from 1998 to 2019.
From two stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, between 2003 to 2010 and 2014 to 2018, and four years with the Miami Heat between 2010 to 2014, LeBron has 380 appearances with the Los Angeles Lakers over the last seven seasons. The overall total of 1,523 games trails Vince Carter’s 1,541, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 1,560, and Robert Parish’s 1,611. Considering a distance of 88 appearances from first place, current projections present an opportunity to break the record during the 2025-26 Regular Season.
A four-time NBA champion to highlight his stints with the Cavs, Heat, and Lakers, and NBA Cup champion in 2023, the Akron native ranks first in points and fourth in assists on the respective all-time lists of the league.
Besides looking for additional individual accolades, helping the Lakers reach the 2025 Playoffs is the immediate task.
