The Toronto Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors in Canada, thanks to an impressive fourth-quarter performance from Chris Boucher, snapping their five-game losing streak.
After the game, Raptors head coach Darko Rajaković shared his thoughts on Steph Curry, who scored a game-high 26 points. However, Curry was held to just five points on three shots in the final 12 minutes as Toronto found a way to neutralize him.
“I’ve been coaching against him for a long, long time. I can’t wait for him to retire. I’m going to get drunk that night, I promise you that,” said Rajaković, while also mentioning that “it’s a privilege for all of us to live in an era” where Curry plays the game of basketball.
The Serbian tactician also praised his team’s center, Austrian Jakob Poeltl.
“I cannot praise enough how much small stuff Jak does for us. The Warriors scored 26 points in the paint, and a big part of that is Jakob’s defense,” Rajaković concluded.
The Raptors are now 9-31 in Rajaković’s second season at the helm as they continue navigating through a rebuilding process.
