Bigs looking to score from beyond the arc is far from a new trend in the constant evolution of basketball, but Domantas Sabonis and Nikola Jokic being more accurate than traditional shooters in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season seems like a stretch but is a reality.

The Lithuanian forward of the Sacramento Kings currently leads the league with 48.5% from three-point range. Making 7/11 triples against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, Luke Kennard of the Memphis Grizzlies improved his season efforts to 47.9% and went up to second place on the list, slightly over a 47.5% set by the Joker in the ongoing campaign with the Denver Nuggets.

“Yeah. It’s very crazy,” responded Sabonis talking about him and the Serbian superstar in such prominent positions, following a winning display versus the Golden State Warriors in Golden 1 Center on Wednesday.

Starting a six-game road trip, stretching into early February, the Kings are taking on the reigning Most Valuable Player of the NBA and the Nuggets in Ball Arena on Thursday.

“It’s going to be another big game, playing against the MVP. A great team. They are playing great basketball right now. It’s going to be a fight. Our previous games against Denver games were always a fight. It’s not going to be easy,” mentioned Sabonis.

At 23-20, the Kings currently sit one game outside the top-six zone of the Western Conference, leading directly to the 2025 Playoffs, while the Nuggets rank fourth behind a 27-16 record.
