Wembanyama strong against Giannis, Bucks

Victor Wembanyama had 30 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks as the San Antonio Spurs crushed the Milwaukee Bucks 144-118 at home. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 35 points and 15 rebounds were not enough for the visiting side.

After a balanced first half with the Bucks up 70 – 71, Wemby scored 14 points in the third period to push the Spurs toward taking a 115-101 lead. His team kept dominating in the rest of the match.

Nikola Jokic posted 28 points, 13 rebounds and nine assiss as the Denver Nuggets overcame the still Joel Embiid-less Philadelphia 76ers 137 – 134 on the road. The Serbian big man hit the go-ahead triple with 39 seconds left and then made a basket for the 135 – 132.

Amid rumors that he may be a target of some contenders, Guerschon Yabusele had his best game yet in the NBA with a career-high 28 points on 12 out of 17 from the field, along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Vasilije Micic tied his season-high 20 points but the Charlotte Hornets coulnd’t overcome the superior Los Angeles Clippers, falling 104 – 112.

Ivica Zubac helped the Clippers get the win with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
