It’s not an April Fools’ joke, cuz it’s February 2nd, but it’s still hard to believe. The Dallas Mavericks have traded Luka Dončić.

The Slovenian star is heading to the Los Angeles Lakers in a blockbuster trade no one saw coming, with Anthony Davis going in the opposite direction. Even Kevin Durant had a hard time grasping the situation:

Insane. It’s crazy, crazy. I never would have thought Luka Dončić would get traded at this age, mid-season. The NBA is a wild place,” Durant reacted, via Duane Rankin.

The Phoenix Suns star and two-time NBA champion believes that this trade could spark more insane moves before the deadline on February 6th.

When you start seeing stuff like that, as an organization, you might get a little more courage to make moves. You see another team trade away somebody like that, and this has got to be the biggest trade I’ve seen since I’ve been in the league or since I’ve been watching the sport. This is insane. So yeah, every other team might get confidence and say, ‘F**k it, I’ll trade a few of my top players if this ain’t working,’” Durant concluded.
