Bogdan Bogdanović hasn’t made his debut for the Los Angeles Clippers yet, but he’ll soon have a new teammate.
According to Shams Charania, former No. 1 NBA draft pick Ben Simmons intends to join the LA team after clearing waivers following his departure from the Brooklyn Nets.
The former Philadelphia 76ers star recently agreed to a contract buyout with the Nets and is set to join the Clippers, who have found success on the buyout market in the past with players like Russell Westbrook, Nicolas Batum, and Reggie Jackson.
The 28-year-old spent three seasons in Brooklyn after being acquired in a deal that sent James Harden to the 76ers, but he managed to play only 90 games for the Nets due to various injuries. He will now reunite with Harden in Los Angeles.
Simmons is averaging 6.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists in 25 minutes per appearance this season. He is set to become a free agent this summer.
As reported by ESPN’s Charania, Simmons also met with the Cleveland Cavaliers in addition to the Clippers this Friday.
