Anthony Davis was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Dončić and already made his debut in Texas.
Despite fans protesting in front of the American Airlines Center because the Mavs let go of Dončić, Davis shined on the court in his first match with the Mavs but got injured late in the third quarter.
Even though the initial impressions were that the injury wasn’t serious, Marc Stein reports that the former NBA champion with the Lakers could miss multiple weeks due to a left adductor strain.
Davis’ timeline remains uncertain, but Stein adds there’s fear he could be sidelined indefinitely.
Davis scored 26 points with 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks before getting injured on his debut against the Houston Rockets. He is currently averaging 25.7 points, 12 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.2 blocks in 43 season appearances.
