Croatian forward Bojan Bogdanovic will undergo season-ending surgery, as reported by ESPN senior NBA insider Shams Charania on Wednesday.

Last April, down the stretch of a brief stint with the New York Knicks, 35-year-old Bogdanovic had season-ending surgery in his left foot and left wrist. Since being traded to the Brooklyn Nets in July, he was listed as out, with an assignment described as left foot injury recovery, across all games of the 2024-25 Regular Season. The latest update ruled him out of the remaining outings for the team coached by Spanish Jordi Fernandez.

A veteran of 770 NBA games, he was initially drafted by the Miami Heat with the 31st selection of the 2011 draft. Landing with the Nets in 2014, the first spell with the franchise lasted until a trade to the Washington Wizards midway through the 2016-17 season. Before the 2017-18 campaign, he inked a contract with the Indiana Pacers. Back on the free-agent market in 2019, he switched to the Utah Jazz. In 2022, he was traded to the Detroit Pistons. Involved in yet another trade midway through the 2023-24 season, he joined the Knicks en route to his final appearance to date.

Earlier in his career, Bogdanovic became a veteran of 87 appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Fenerbahce Ulker, Cibona, and Real Madrid.

Representing Croatia in international tournaments went from the junior to the senior level in 2010. From his debut in the 2010 FIBA World Championship, additional action included the 2016 Olympic Games, the 2014 FIBA World Cup, and five participations in the final stage of the EuroBasket.
