The Memphis Grizzlies outlasted the Phoenix Suns in a back-and-forth high-scoring affair with a 151-148 overtime victory in FedExForum on Tuesday.
With Serbian Vasilije Micic staying on the bench, waiting to debut with the Suns, European action was limited to Spanish Santi Aldama putting in 17 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals in just under 32 minutes for the Grizzlies. The 24-year-old big tucking in a triple in the extra period launched a finishing 7-0 run for the hosts.
Forcing the team coached by Mike Budenholzer to 27-31 in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season, the Grizzlies went up to 38-20 and tied the Denver Nuggets in second place in the Western Conference standings.
In Chase Center, Dutch Quinten Post went for eight points, three points, two steals, and two assists as the Golden State Warriors cruised past the Charlotte Hornets, 128-92. On the wrong end, French Moussa Diabate recorded five points, five rebounds, three assists, and two blocks, but Bosnian Jusuf Nurkic stayed on the bench and French Tidjane Salaun was ruled out due to a right ankle sprain.
Latvian Kristaps Porzingis slowed down by an illness was a late scratch for the Boston Celtics en route to a 111-101 victory versus the Toronto Raptors in Scotiabank Arena. Portuguese Neemias Queta was cleared from an illness and lasted nearly 20 minutes, tallying eight points, five rebounds, and one block. Austrian Jakob Poeltl (right hip pointer) remained sidelined for the team coached by Serbian Darko Rajakovic.
