The Detroit Pistons were entering their matchup at home against the Denver Nuggets in good spirits, coming off a nice eight-game winning streak. However, Nikola Jokic thought differently.

Recording his 28th triple-double of the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season with 23 points, 17 rebounds, and 15 assists – nobody had ever reached these numbers in an NBA game, according to the analytics and statistics platform StatHead -, he was the crucial asset for his team’s 134-119 road win.

“[The Detroit Pistons] are playing really good and physical, but we hold our composure. We shot the ball pretty well, we got where we wanted and exceeded their physicality,” he commented on the victory keys.

“I tried to play the game, I didn’t try to force anything different. I just tried to play hard, just like I’ve played over the last 10 years,” Jokic added about his umpteenth triple-double of the season.

Nikola Jokic is currently fighting for his 4th NBA MVP, averaging a triple-double of 29.2 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 10.4 assists per game.

On Detroit’s losing side, Simone Fontecchio came off the bench for 12 points over 4/7 from the field. Dennis Schroder followed his European teammate with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists.
