Resurfacing constant efforts to give back to the community and help others, Domantas Sabonis stars in a plan to raise awareness and help families affected by the California Wildfires.
Over the next 40 rebounds collected by the 28-year-old Lithuanian forward/center with the Sacramento Kings in the Golden 1 Center, a donation of 2,500 will be made for a total of 100,000 dollars.
“Domantas and Shashana Sabonis are launching an on-court initiative to raise awareness and money for the thousands of families affected by the California Wildfires.
The Sabonis family will donate $2,500 for every rebound that Domantas grabs at every Sacramento Kings home game beginning on March 17. The challenge will continue until he grabs 40 rebounds for a total donation of $100K. Donations will be made to the following organizations to advance their work in Los Angeles: Baby2Baby, World Central Kitchen, LA Fire Department Foundation and the Humane Society. With this challenge, Domantas urges his audience and Sacramento Kings fans to join him in supporting these organizations and do what they can to help southern California rebuild.”

The creative idea was revealed and launched on Monday before Sabonis was forced to an early exit from a home contest versus the Memphis Grizzlies due to a right ankle injury. He pulled down one rebound in 12 minutes.
The Kings stay in Sacramento for the next six outings in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season, welcoming the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Portland Trail Blazers in Golden 1 Center until March 27.
