The Milwaukee Bucks are underperforming in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season.

Aligning with expectations for much more than a 38-30 record, head coach Doc Rivers called a meeting with team leaders Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, as reported by senior NBA insider Chris Haynes on Wednesday.

The struggles extended to a disappointing losing effort against the Golden State Warriors in Chase Center. Despite sitting Stephen Curry, Steve Kerr’s side dominated large stretches and ended up with a comfortable win, with Jimmy Butler taking over on Tuesday.

Leading into the meeting, the franchise based in Wisconsin fell to fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The distance from the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers is now 17.5 games, while the Boston Celtics are 11.5 games away.

A realistic approach to the last 14 games of the Regular Season surfaces a bid for homecourt advantage in the Conference Quarterfinals. The Indiana Pacers currently enjoy a one-game advantage over the Bucks and sit fourth. In a virtual tie with the Detroit Pistons in fifth place, shying from a strong finish to the 82-game schedule would instead create danger of further descension.

Talking with Rivers, the Greek star and Lillard openly shared their opinions on how to improve the current situation, according to Haynes.

Moving on from San Francisco, the Bucks continue a demanding five-game road trip with clashes versus the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, the Phoenix Suns on Monday, and the Denver Nuggets next Wednesday.
