In his first season with the Portland Trail Blazers, Deni Avdija has been playing phenomenally, leading the team in trying to find a spot in this year’s Play-Ins.
Even against one of the toughest opponents in the league like the Denver Nuggets – without Nikola Jokic -, he put up 36 points and 8 rebounds, going close to his career-high of 43 points scored in February 2024. The Trail Blazers won 128-109, and Deni Avdija reflected on his performance in the post-game.
“I don’t think I’ve played like this before. I think I knew I had it in me, but I’m not really thinking about it. I’m just playing, I’m free: I love playing around the guys, regardless of how much I score,” he said.
Toumani Camara also contributed to Portland’s latest victory, getting 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists off the bench to keep pushing in trying to climb the standings in the West.
Elsewhere in the league, Franz Wagner had 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists to help Orlando on the road in Washington, with Alex Sarr (19 points and 10 rebounds) and Tristan Vukcevic (17 points and 6 rebounds) on the losing end.
The San Antonio Spurs beat Philadelphia 128-120 with Jeremy Sochan’s 23 points and 9 rebounds, while Guerschon Yabusele had 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists in the loss.
