With the Denver Nuggets preparing to welcome the Milwaukee Bucks in Ball Arena, Nikola Jokic was officially listed as doubtful to play on Wednesday.
Due to a left ankle impingement, the Serbian superstar sat out the previous five games of the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season. Despite the upgrade from out to doubtful, he is expected to miss at least one more game.
Before tipping off a five-game homestand with a losing effort opposite the Chicago Bulls on Monday, head coach Michael Malone mentioned that Jokic would return to action during the home stretch. Following the Bucks, his side will host the Utah Jazz on Friday, the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, and the San Antonio Spurs next Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Bucks officially listed Giannis Antetokounmpo as questionable due to a left foot sprain, in addition to Damian Lillard being ruled out indefinitely with a right calf deep vein thrombosis. Other players out for the team coached by Doc Rivers extend from Bobby Portis Jr. (league suspension) and Jericho Sims (right thumb UCL sprain).
The injury list of the Nuggets additionally features Daron Holmes II (right Achilles tendon repair) and Julian Strawther (left knee sprain) as out, besides Aaron Gordon (right calf injury management / left ankle sprain) as questionable and Christian Braun (left foot strain) as probable.
At the bottom end of the Regular Season, the Nuggets sit third in the Western Conference table behind a 45-28 W-L tally, while the Bucks rank fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 40-31 record.
