NBA commissioner Adam Silver, joined by FIBA secretary general Andreas Zagklis, recently confirmed the plans for the creation of an NBA European League.
Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez shared his thoughts on this ambitious project.
“The identity of European basketball is very important, just as the identity of basketball is here. It’s something that can’t be lost. Both styles of basketball are excellent, and maintaining them is important, but also evolving them and doing new things,” Fernandez said.
The Spaniard emphasizes the importance of collaboration on this path.
“The ideal scenario is with everyone sitting at the table and creating what’s best for the fans. Let everyone sit at the table, and together we can create the best possible league for the benefit of the fans, so they can see a better product than the one we have now,” Jordi Fernandez concluded.
