Before a win against the Memphis Grizzlies in FedExForum, the Los Angeles Lakers head coach, JJ Redick, addressed struggles in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season. Slovenian superstar Luka Doncic, alongside LeBron James and Austin Reaves, was part of the team meeting.

“We challenged all three of them when we get to their three-man actions to play with a little more force and a little more thrust and a little more creativity,” the 40-year-old play-caller described topics of discussion.

“I think the meeting was just still trying to build that chemistry amongst the three of us to help the team be successful,” said Reaves, “I think tonight it just showed that when we play the right way and trust one another, especially offensively, we can have open looks on almost every possession.”

“It was really just a conversation about how bad all of us want to win and win at a high level,” added the 26-year-old guard, following the latest installment of NBA Saturdays.

Redick’s side improved to 45-29 and earned a tiebreaker advantage, in addition to building a one-game lead over the Grizzlies in a battle for the fourth seed on the Western Conference bracket of the 2025 Playoffs presented by Google. The third-seeded Denver Nuggets are 1.5 games away.

With eight outings left in the Regular Season, the Lakers enter a three-game homestand, with the Houston Rockets visiting crypto.com Arena on Monday. The Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Pelicans follow on Thursday and Friday.
