Jokić’s 41-point triple-double not enough for the Nuggets

The Serbian center Nikola Jokic is having another MVP-caliber season, but for some reason, the Denver Nuggets are struggling.

In the first of their last four regular season games, the Colorado team lost at home to the Indiana Pacers, 120–125, despite Jokić’s strong triple-double.

The three-time NBA MVP finished the game with 41 points, 15 rebounds, and 13 assists, shooting 18-for-33 from the field, but it still wasn’t enough to lead his team to victory.

Jokić tied Wilt Chamberlain’s record for the most 40-point triple-doubles by a center, with his seventh such performance. In the previous two games, he recorded a 61-point triple-double and a 33-point, 12-rebound Sombor double — but Denver lost those as well.

The Nuggets are now 47–32 in the Western Conference standings and could even fall into the Play-In zone by the end of the regular season.
