The Los Angeles Lakers endured a rough night on Tuesday, falling 136-120 to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a game that saw Luka Dončić ejected. The loss adds another blow to their challenging road stretch as they prepare for a quick turnaround.
Next up for the Lakers is a trip to Texas, where they’ll face Dončić’s former team, the Dallas Mavericks, on Wednesday.
Speaking after the game, Dončić reflected on his impending return to Dallas.
“I don’t really know what to expect. I don’t know how I’m going to feel, honestly. I’m looking forward to being back in Dallas — obviously, with the fans, seeing my teammates, ex-teammates. It’s going to be very emotional for me, for sure,” Dončić said, via Dave McMenamin.
Dončić spent six and a half seasons with the Mavericks, earning five NBA All-Star nods and five All-NBA selections. He also led the franchise to its first NBA Finals appearance since the 2011 title run.
He joined the Lakers in a historic trade that sent Anthony Davis to Dallas.
