Big teams know how to honor players that have defined the game, and the San Antonio Spurs did that for Kobe Bryant, before the game against the L.A. Lakers
The five times NBA champions welcomed Kobe for his last game in AT & T center by paying homage to him with a 3 minute video that was followed by a huge applause by the fans of the Texan teams, who also sang the player’s name rhythmically.
Greg Popovich and his team were victorious 106 – 102 thanks to 26 points and 9 rebounds by LaMarcus Aldridge, while Kobe scored 16 points in the third quarter and 25 in total to bring back some… nightmares of old to the Texan team. But not the win for the L.A. Lakers.
“I thought it was great,” San Antonio point guard Tony Parker said. “It was a great game, fans were into it. It felt a little bit like the old days in the playoffs, Spurs and the Lakers.”
