The new-look Dallas Mavericks were revealed in Macao, China, with Kyrie Irving being back on the court for the first time after 586 days.

The Mavs beat the Rockets 132-115 as Irving had 17 points in 22 minutes on a roster with a lot of European flavor.

French forward Zaccharie Risacher was also a starter with 16 points, while Turkish former Fenerbahce star Tarik Biberovic added eight points off the bench, and Spanish rookie Sergio de Larrea was also impressive in 22 minutes of action with nine points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two turnovers.

His compatriot Santy Aldama wasn’t used in the game, and the Rockets also rested their star Alperen Sengun.

For Houston, Swiss big man Clint Capela had five points and nine rebounds, while Serbian sharpshooter Bogdan Bogdanovic added seven points off the bench.

“A lot of emotions leading into it,” Irving said about his first basket in the game that put Chinese fans into a frenzy. “Grateful that Dusty [May] called the first play for me. Had my mind made up just to attack. … I saw that baseline open up a little bit, and it just felt good to get that out of the way.”

“I didn’t expect him to play this well after being off for so long, just [because of] the rhythm of the game,” Dallas coach Dusty May added. “It’s just a testament to his work.”
